  We successfully had our offer accepted on a Free Trade Wharf unit listed by Property Liaisons, 5 months after our initial viewing. We were surprised to learn later that the unit had only one assigned large parking bay despite being marketed as having two, but we brushed this aside as an honest mistake. We shouldn't have.
  
  A few weeks later, our lawyers uncovered that the lease on the flat was not the 999 years confirmed by the agent (Justin) in writing but rather, the lease had only 95 years remaining. The agent was quick to frame this as an error on the part of the seller. We didn't buy that argument for a second as anyone selling a property would know the duration of their lease! When the truth was uncovered, the agent refused to absorb the cost of lease extension as originally agreed in the terms of our offer. We were left with no choice but to back out from the transaction.
  
  It's clear that real estate agents come in all shapes and sizes. Few risk repercussion from the Ombudsman like Property Liasons will. Avoid at all costs!
