  We had a very poor experience with Mr Maycox who was appointed by our neighbour. A £6,000 security payment was demanded for minor works involving raising the party wall and inserting lead flashing. We had to seek advice as to whether this was proportionate and our costs therefore escalated. Mr Maycox's fees ended up being considerably higher than for the other adjoining owner's surveyor, with the works to this neighbour being considerably more complex.
